Immersed in Infinity: Yayoi Kusama at Fondation Beyeler

From October 12, 2025 to January 25, 2026, Fondation Beyeler (Riehen / Basel, Switzerland) presents a major retrospective devoted to the celebrated Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

Organised in close collaboration with Kusama and her studio, the exhibition offers a sweeping overview of her more than seven-decade artistic career.  Visitors will see both iconic works and previously unseen early pieces, new productions, and one of her famed Infinity Mirror Rooms.

Kusama has become a cultural icon for her engagement with repetitive patterns and immersive environments — from her signature polka dots to mirrored installations that dissolve spatial boundaries.  The show highlights her versatility across many media: painting, sculpture, installations, drawing, collage, performances, fashion, and more.

The exhibition is part of a traveling retrospective also scheduled for Museum Ludwig in Cologne (March 14 – August 2, 2026) and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (September 11, 2026 – January 17, 2027).
