From March 14 to August 23, 2026, Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi presents a major exhibition dedicated to Mark Rothko, a leading figure of modern American art. Curated by Christopher Rothko and Elena Geuna, the show traces the artist’s entire career through over 70 works from major international museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Tate.

The project also extends to key sites in Florence, such as the Museo di San Marco and the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, highlighting Rothko’s connection with the city. The exhibition explores his distinctive use of color to create powerful emotional experiences and a new sense of space.
